How to Keep Living in the Shadow of War?

In this difficult time, when each of us has become an involuntary participant in the immense ordeal called "Russia's war against Ukraine," we face a multitude of challenges. Without prior experience, knowledge, or special training, we are all forced to endure emotional, physical, and moral exhaustion.

Accepting reality: the first step toward change

The first thing we must understand is that there is no escaping reality. Regardless of where we are right now, each of us is living through hard times. Yet instead of withdrawing into ourselves and waiting for better days, we must find a way to continue living.

Self-care as the foundation of survival

Rather than renouncing joy, love, travel, or other familiar activities, we must learn to find joy in everyday life. War is, unfortunately, not a fleeting phenomenon, so it is important to build a strategy for the long term.

Actions that inspire

Beyond basic needs such as food, hygiene, and work, I have begun including physical exercise, leisure activities, social gatherings, and travel in my schedule. This helps me gradually return to my familiar rhythm of life and feel like a whole person.

Living is not something to be ashamed of

Living is the best way to support yourself and society. Life continues, and each new day is an opportunity for growth, development, and helping others. Do not wait for "ideal conditions" — choose to live here and now.

To close, I want to say that each of us has the strength to find light in the darkness. We cannot control external circumstances, but we can control our reactions to them and our daily choices. Life before the war, during it, and after it is still our life, and we have the right to live it with dignity and full commitment.

Choose to live. Choose to love. Choose laughter and joy, even when it seems like the hardest thing to do. Your life is your path, and only you decide what it will look like.
